ISCAEE 2009 Korea
The 2009 Korea Symposium and Ceramics Art Festival Organized by ISCAEE happened at the same time as the South Korean World Ceramic Biannual at the Incheon World Ceramic Center between the 24th of April to the sixth of May 2009. A total of 44 universities joined this activity from China, Denmark Israel, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Nigeria, Ireland, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, United Kingdom, Vietnam and USA.
Symposium administrative committee organized the following activities: Students Ceramic Project Workshop, with the theme, “Adventure of Fire”; Professional Artist and Lecturers Workshops and Conferences with the theme, “Traditional and Modern Ceramic Firing Techniques”; ISCAEE Ceramic Exhibition, in which all participants were given the opportunity to display their work. The exhibition ran from April 25th to June 21st, 2009 in the Galery of Yeoji World Livingware; demonstrations of traditional firing techniques of Raku Firing and Anagama Kim Firing, with student particapants from Korea, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa; and tours to the South Korean ceramic centers, including stops at the National Museum of Korea, “Zien Art Space” Contemporary Art Center, Yeongam Onggi Big jar pottery village, Guri Museum where is the first glazed potteries were produced in Korea, Gangjin city Celadon Museum and kiln area have been visited for technical review.
